Cut from seven. I meet the entry requirements for all three.
I worked backwards from the work. What I want to do is the side of a project that plans it, prices it, and gets it delivered on time and on budget.
The direct qualification for those is Construction Management, and it is closed to me: every university requires pure Mathematics and Physical Science, which I did not take. That is permanent.
So these are the routes that are open into the same work. DUT is first because Operations Management leads most directly into it, and DUT is the only university in the country that will accept me for it — Johannesburg and Tshwane both require Mathematical Literacy at 60% and I have 59%. I confirmed that with UJ directly.
UJ is second because it is where I would prefer to study and it is in the city I am already in. It is a one-year certificate, the application is free, and it closes a month after the others — so it costs nothing to hold alongside the first choice.
It also isn't a change of direction. For the past year I have been building websites, apps and AI tools, and what I do every day is take a process, find the slow or expensive step, and remove it. That has a formal name, and the name is operations management.
